This years blowout will be Saturday August 3rd (2013)

Directions

Please R.S.V.P. with a YES or NO to: skene@glis.net 248-318-4461

Every year we co-host a summer bash with friends of the family. We play great music of all genres to make you dance, sing, and play all night. There is enticing food and quenching bevereges (for all types of thirst ) There is no cover charge, but we do ask that you bring something with you. If you would like to contribute to the liquid refreshment supply (or fund), or bring something to add to the food table, that's all we ask. Oh, and one more thing, you have to have a great time.

There is a barbecue grill available almost all day for the burgers, Brats, or for anything that you want to bring. (New York strips, are always welcome) There are food warmers, and soup kettles available. We have a hot dog roller grill and bun steamer, so fresh hot "Dogs" will be available throughout the day. We have margarita's freezing for the adults, slushies for the kids, good food steaming, and great tunes playing.

There is a deck to rest on, a jaccuzzi to relax in, another deck around the pool, a volley ball court, horseshoe pit, and an extremely large dance floor. (In case you're curious, that consists of the driveway and any available yard space). Karaoke is available for your enjoyment and usually starts much later in the evening. (After much of the liquid refreshment has been consumed). Singing karaoke is available whenever the mood strikes you, don't be afraid to ask.

Our car show has turned out better each year. Bring your street rod, classic, or motorcycle and join in the show.

We reserve the right to remove anyone from the premises if they are getting out of hand. Other than that, the only two rules are that you have to relax, and have fun. Oh, and NO business transactions or discussions. (OK, so there are three rules) And just for the record, we have never had to "remove" anybody.

Below are a few snapshots of our blasts from the past years. Just click on any picture to see an 800x600 image. Join us this year and make some memories and take some pictures of your own. Due to work and other projects we haven't been able to update the pictures for the past few years. But we have lots.

Please note: Due to severe inconveniences to guests at previous parties, children are to supervised by a PARENT at ALL times. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

I apologize that these pictures haven't been updated for a couple years. Last year we had around 200 guests and no one really got an good party pictures.

Co-Hosts of the party, Brenda with Joanna and David Fay (With friends). Also finally a picture of myself and my wife (Brian and Brenda Skene). Shown here having some fun on the beach.

We have had a nice classic car and hot-rod show as well. Click here for more pictures of the "Toys"

For the entertainment portion of the party, we had some good house rattling toonage. Here are a few shots of the speaker stacks, lighting, and beverage equipment. This years lighting setup should be much better. (If I can get a day off to wire everything) The pulse pounding rig is pushing 12000 watts. We're going to split this up a bit and put some more speakers outside to fill in the entire yard. (weather permitting)

And there was a surprise appearance of a moonwalk for the kids (of all ages) Also available for your "flying" pleasure, an enclosed trampoline

Don't forget the starter tables of food, and the snack island with new dishes arriving throughout the day. Also some fruity flavored treats for the adults......

Enjoy the deck around the pool. Even the little ones had a pool to play in. And don't forget Corona's at sunset

Let's see.... how do you do this again? Oh yeah! Line dancing, on the spatious dance floor. (Yes, I know, but it is fun) Finally everyone is in sync!

Our first performer of the evening, then the next American Idol. And our own Al Green (She REALLY sounds like Al Green) and group sing-alongs (Bohemian Rhapsody)

Duets abound in the evening hours

Margarita Karaoke, a sound unto itself..... And "You screwed up"... "Did not!"

Late night volley ball,... and there's always room for more Jello

Giving thanks for the great weather druing the party, and our late night crowd still going strong.

The 2:00 AM crowd still having fun with the Casper Slide and the YMCA.

Even classical and Latin dancing. And finally some lovin' for the DJ.

I can't believe my mother is dancing on a chair!... (OK, so we went through 24 gallons of Margarita's. )
